The numbers above represent a small fraction of the total glazing options and configurations offered by Golden Windows. Please check all our glazing option on the Natural Resources Canada website (http://oee.nrcan.gc.ca/residential/energystar-energuide-r2000.cfm?attr=0) or in the United States, please visit, the National Fenestration Rating Council website (www.nfrc.org) for our thermal test results.

Notes:
1. A-Air Tightness
Tested in accordance with ASTM Standard E283, Rate of Air Leakage Through Exterior Windows.
B-Water Tightness
Tested in accordance with ASTM Standard E547, Water Penetration of Exterior Windows, at specified test pressure.
C-Wind Load
Tested in accordance with ASTM Standard E330, Structural Performance of Exterior Windows, at specified test pressure.
Larger numbers indicate better performance.  Level 1 in certain areas is considered to be the minimum requirement for residential construction.

2. F-Forced Entry
An F2 rating indicates the product has been tested in accordance with ASTM Standard F588, Resistance of Window Assemblies to Forced Entry.

3. Energy Rating
Energy Rating (ER) measures overall performance based on the windows ability to admit solar heat, prevent heat loss through frames, spacer, and glass, and resist air leakage heat loss. ER Value is measured in watts per square metre.  The higher the ER Value, the better the window performance.

4. SHGC- Solar Heat Gain Coefficient
The ratio of solar heat gain through a window component to the solar radiation incident on it, for a given angle and for given environmental conditions.  Values are for the total unit.

5. U Value and U Factor
U Value and U Factor indicate the amount of heat loss through a complete window product, due to conduction, convection, and radiation. U Value is measured in watts per square metre.  U Factor is measured in BTU per hour per square foot.  Lower numbers indicate better thermal performance with less heat loss.  Windows have been simulated in accordance with NFRC 100-2004, using the WINDOW 5 and THERM 5 computer programs.

6.
ANSI/AAMA/NWWDA/I.S.2
The NWWDA Rating System is based upon design pressure (DP). Values shown after the window type “C” for casement or “AP” for Awning Projected and followed by “R” for Residential are DP-Ratings (psf) for air filtration, water penetration, and structural testing (ie. 15, 25, 30, etc.). The structural test pressure is 150% of design pressure (DP).

7.
R Value
R Value measures the resistance of a window product to heat flow. Higher values indicate better thermal performance. R Value is numerically equal to the inverse of U Factor.

8.
NWWDA I.S.2-93
The NWWDA Rating System is based upon design pressure (DP). Values shown are DP-Ratings (psf) for air filtration, water penetration, and structural testing (ie. Grades (40/35/40). The structural test pressure is 150% of design pressure (DP).

9.
SC-Shading Coefficient
The ratio of solar heat gain through a window under a specific set of conditions, to the solar heat gain through 1/8” (3mm) sheet of clear glass under the same conditions. Values are for centre glass.
